Form Fields decouple the input from the design. The Buyer therefore does not have to select a frame first to change the content. This is why Form Fields are always used when content is placed more than once in the layout. For example, the first name of the recipient of a greeting card. If this is used on the cover and on the inside of the card, the Buyer only has to make the change once.
But with Printess, Form Fields are much more powerful. You can add data from a list or table through a Form Field. It could be used to build complex logics - without the need for programming knowledge. And it can control the entire look like of a Layout by just one mouse click if you combine it with Styles.
There are two different kinds of Form Fields:
Template Form Fields are globally usable across all documents.
Document Form Fields are local and only usable within the current document. This is mandatory for Layout Snippets or any documents which will be used as Sub Documents in Layout Snippets.
Use the tabs Template and Document in the screenshot above to switch between Template Form Fields and Document Form Fields. Document Form Fields will have the name of the current document in square brackets [DocumentName].

Form Fields can be sorted by clicking on the mover bar to the left and then dragged and dropped into place.
Form Fields can be grouped, which will create a grouped configuration for the Buyer Side. New Form Field groups can be inserted by the Add Form Field Group button.
